User experience is the science and art of designing a website or product so that it is easy to use, fits the users’ expectations and meets business goals. My wide digital experience across these areas allows me to design information architecture and experiences which are well considered, deliverable and effective.
Using tried and tested techniques and processes I can turn the germ of an idea into something tangible which can be discussed by stakeholders and businesses, evaluated with customers and importantly evolved and iterated onto the net stage.
I carry out research and competitor analysis, run requirements and stakeholder sessions, create personas and sitemaps and build clickable prototypes and write specifications.
In my experience user experience does not give enough consideration to the content of the site or service – which is generally why users tend to be there. This is partly because the ‘user experience’ happens in advance of the ‘content creation’ stage of a project. My experience of creating content allows me to minimise the impact of this and means the user experience can be used to start evaluating content as well as the user interface.
